Hella Jongerius
Initiated in 2007 - ongoing. Visual identity including: stationery, website, newsletter, business cards, stickers, ‘Kind regards’ card.
Jongeriuslab belongs to the absolute international elite for industrial design, realising designs under the creative leadership of Hella Jongerius.
The starting point for this visual identity is the power of Jongeriuslab’s work. We consciously chose for a reserved approach by the designer, who only determined the structure and the basic preconditions, such as the use of the extremely neutral typeface ‘Neutral’ (by Kai Ernau) for the logo. The result is a surprisingly reserved ‘style-less style’, which, like a painter’s palette, leaves room for Jongeriuslab’s strong, varied portfolio. For instance, each of Jongeriuslab’s designers has a choice of four business cards for the presentation of their own designs in the collection, and the website is an extensive archive which displays not only the collection, but also the process of creation.
A pleasant consequence of this approach is that as the assortment of Jongeriuslab develops, the visual identity moves along with it, allowing it to remain up-to-date at all times. The logo is reversable, allowing the client to switch between the ‘brandname’ of Hella Jongerius and the name of the creative collective.
