The Netherlands China Arts Foundation was initiated by the Dutch Culture Fund in order to cultivate the cultural exchange between China and The Netherlands.

The NCAF wanted a full scale visual representation on their ambition and vision of cultural exchange between The Netherlands and China. Studio Dumbar China followed its nature when creating a concept of blending both countries identities. The logo consists of the Chinese character for China and the abbreviation NL for the Netherlands while the visual style is a combination of handwritten Chinese calligraphy and modern graphics. The prominent style has been applied consistently to brochures, stationary, posters, the website and newsletters.
